Dr. Sarita Bhalerao is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Mumbai. She attended Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai, and then studied Science at St. Xavier’s College.

She completed her MBBS from Seth G. S Medical College in 1991 and her MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from KEM and Wadia Hospitals in 1994. She then acquired the degrees of DNB, FCPS, and DFP.

Dr. Bhalerao has worked for 1 year in Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai as a Fellow in Gynecologic Oncology and Preventive Gynecologic Oncology. She worked as a Lecturer at Wadia Maternity Hospital from 1995 to 2003.

In 1994, she worked at Gravesend Hospital, UK, as Senior House Officer. This hospital is part of the Dartford and Gravesend NHS Trust. Simultaneously, she completed the MRCOG (Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK). She has been trained in Endoscopy in Kiel, Germany.

Currently, she is affiliated to the following hospitals in Mumbai: Breach Candy, Reliance HNH, Bhatia, Saifee, Wockhardt, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital,and  Motiben Dalvi Hospital. She is an Honorary Clinical Associate at Wadia Maternity Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.

She received the Asea-Oceana Young Gynecologist Award in 2000 and the Hargobind Foundation Fellowship in 2003.

Her areas of interest include Preventive Oncology, Menopause, Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy, and High-Risk Pregnancy.
